Laura Garcia

Laura Garcia is the Chief Risk Officer at First Business Bank, with oversight accountabilities for risk management, legal, compliance, audit and loan review. Laura has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, centered in commercial banking, credit, compliance and risk management, most recently with BMO. She also has valuable experience in sales and training and has led the development and implementation of business advisory sales programs and credit training programs. She has a passion for mentoring through which she developed bank mentoring programs and has volunteered with various organizations to mentor college students and young professionals on personal finance and career development. Laura has worked on many large projects over her career including bank integration initiatives and led the BMO’s commercial banking PPP program.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a minor in International Studies and resides with her husband and family in Lisle, IL.
