MADISON, WI — November 23, 2020 – First Business Bank, a division of First Business Financial Services, Inc., announces its $1 million commitment to the Dane Workforce Housing Fund, which is addressing the lack of affordable housing in Dane County.
“We’re really proud we can contribute to providing economic stability for hard-working people here in Dane County,” says Jim Hartlieb, First Business Bank President. “Several of our senior leaders are involved with this fund, so we’re very excited to see the first project get underway.”
Administered by Madison Development Corporation with assistance from United Way of Dane County, the Dane Workforce Housing Fund exceeded its $10 million goal, reaching $11.8 million in investment support. The fund seeks to create 500 new affordable workforce housing units in Dane County in the next three years for the “missing middle” whose household incomes fall between 40% to 80% of the median income. The first project, a 39-unit building in Middleton, WI, is underway with the Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corporation.
